Well everyone Good news for us in Lee county. I called Scott County Telephone Cooperative yesterday
Feb 15, 2013 and was told that they were doing preliminary work on the
fiber here in Jonesville and they will be completing all areas that Leno
LLC did not want to Finnish out over this year and next. I do hope that
they can do it a bit sooner here in Saint Charles I would really like
to have their service. As for Sunset Digital Communications I really don't know if they will be involved in the finishing out or not.
I
do hope the Sunset will be involved but I do see why they would not
also. In my opinion SUNSET got crapped on big time LENO LLC should have
let Sunset at least bid on their share of the network. I do wish SUNSET
all the best and I do hope that they can be the ones that I deal with
if/when Saint Charles area gets finished out..

Have you heard anything about the "supposed" Verizon tower that is going up in the area? I've been told by someone at the Coalition there is "supposed" to be one. I'd like to find some accurate information though before I sign up with satellite internet. It's getting old not having a good internet thanks to lone mountain wanting so much money to cross their tracks. If you've heard anything or know of anything more about the fiber optic in the Monarch area would you please drop me an e-mail? It would be much appreciated! :) My e-mail is... Well MsKissyChrissy I've heard a lot about that but I called The Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission that is where the Coalition are getting their money from and their are no plans to put a tower in Saint Charles or Keokee. Their have been people giving their land away for know good reason for this. I've also called verizon and they have NO plans to lease or biuld a tower in this area ether so the wireless thing here is a no go. If things change I'll post more here on this blog. As far as the fiber goes scott county has told me over the phone that as soon as the get jonesville reworked and 98% of them connected they will be moving on to pennington doing that then to St.Charles and doing us. They told me to give them 1-2 years more and 99% of lee county would be connected.
